Students in the theatre arts department at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma will present John Pielmeier’s classic melodrama “Agnes of God” on March 4-5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis Hall Little Theatre.
The 1979 murder mystery—turned into a 1985 feature film starring Jane Fonda and Anne Bancroft—tells the story of a 21-year-old novice nun who unexpectedly gives birth and the resulting struggles between the mother superior of her convent and a court-appointed psychiatrist who is seeking answers.
A work of modern realism, “Agnes of God” is restricted to mature audiences due to adult themes. This production has a content warning for sexual abuse, child abuse, and infant death.
Tickets will only be available at the door, and seating will be limited due to the ongoing pandemic.
